Packaging distributor Rajapack UK has changed its name to RAJA UK, bringing the Bedfordshire-based supplier into line with the brand its parent group uses across Europe.
The company said it supplies more than 43,000 UK businesses, and that the operation now trading as RAJA UK has served British customers since 1998. It sits within the RAJA Group, founded in France in 1954 by Rachel Marcovici and Janine Rocher, whose first names supplied the letters behind the RAJA name.
One brand across 19 markets
According to RAJA UK, using the group name gives customers one recognisable brand across the 19 European countries the group serves. The company framed the change as a naming alignment rather than an operational one: the range, the staff and the next-day service customers buy remain as before.
Tom Rodda, managing director of RAJA UK, said: “Our name has changed, but what customers rely on hasn’t: the same people, the same range and the same next-day service.”
Free tool for peak costing
Announced alongside the rebrand, RAJA UK’s Prepare for Peak tool is free to use and is designed to help businesses estimate what their busiest weeks will cost their packing operation, and where they might save, ahead of Black Friday on 27 November.
Users choose their industry to see how far order volumes typically rise at peak. The benchmarks blend Office for National Statistics retail data with RAJA order data covering 2023 to 2025. Users then enter their own figures, such as parcels handled in a day and the number of people packing.
The result is an illustrative estimate rather than a quotation, the company said, so the output works as a planning aid rather than a committed price for a customer’s peak season.
Rodda said the timing mattered, with peak only weeks away, and described the tool as putting “a number on what the busiest weeks will cost.”
For a distributor, peak planning tends to turn on two constraints: how many parcels can be packed in a day and how many people are available to pack them. Those are the two figures the tool asks users to supply, and the estimate moves with them.
Because the result depends on those inputs and on the industry benchmark a user selects, its accuracy rests on how closely a business’s own trading pattern matches that benchmark. RAJA UK presents the figure as an indication only and does not claim a validated saving for any individual operation.
