  • The contractor says the shorter name will take effect after it continues trading as Mace Construct until the new year, with a fresh strategy and productivity targets running to 2030.
  • Mace Construct will trade as Forco from the new year, following its separation from Mace Consult in March. Executive chair Mark Reynolds says the name signals an aim to be the UK's most forward-thinking contractor and its most productive by 2030.

Mace Construct will adopt the name Forco from the new year, the UK contractor has announced. The business said the new name is short, impactful and easy to pronounce.

The change follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two separate businesses in March. Under that arrangement, Mace Consult retained the Mace brand, while the contracting business takes on the Forco name.

Mace Construct will continue to trade under its current name until the new year. It will then go forward as Forco, alongside a new corporate strategy that is to be set out at the same time as productivity targets running through to 2030.

Mark Reynolds, executive chair, said the business had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. He said the new name represented a clear commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.

Reynolds added that while the name and brand are changing, the qualities that have made Mace Construct one of the UK's most respected contractors have not: its culture, its values and the people who have underpinned its success. Clients, he said, can expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.
