Landscape Forms has relaunched SHUFFLE, a modular pole system that consolidates Wi-Fi, cameras, sensors, two-way communications and electric-vehicle charging into a single vertical structure. The company frames the relaunch as an answer to public spaces that keep adding single-purpose poles for lighting, security and connectivity as available room shrinks.
The pitch is that site managers can widen what a site does without adding visual clutter or extra cost. Components stack on one pole and can be reconfigured later, and Landscape Forms says the integrated design is meant to bring a modern appearance and efficiencies to busy, multi-use environments.
New modules and configuration
The relaunch adds plug-and-play options: a 360-degree area light, a decorative light ring, a 180-degree area light, quad-view and 180-degree cameras, motion sensors, plus loudspeaker and intercom modules. A new build feature on the company's website lets clients name preferred camera and technology brands and pick among the options offered within each.
Shannon Lee, business development manager for smart poles at Schréder, said the system was designed to suit busy public spaces with feature sets that can be updated as a site's needs change, and that the aim was to fold safety and connectivity into outdoor spaces without letting the equipment dominate them.
Where it is meant to go
Landscape Forms lists university and business campuses, airports and commuting hubs, shopping malls and tourist areas, concert halls, city parks, sports venues and hospitals among the intended settings, where one pole may need to carry lighting, surveillance, connectivity and communications at the same time.
Jordan Agustin, president of lighting at Landscape Forms, said the relaunch reflects technology and design working together to make outdoor spaces safer and smarter, and that the added capabilities are integrated into SHUFFLE's streamlined form in support of the company's stated mission of connecting people to the outdoors and to each other.
